New Every Morning
There’s something powerful about the idea of starting fresh. We’ve talked it at Beach Church how for many of us, the weight of the past—what we didn’t do, what we regret, or even just the heaviness of hard seasons—can linger longer than we want it to. But God, in His endless faithfulness, doesn’t require us to stay stuck in yesterday.
Lamentations 3:22–23 brings a quiet but bold reminder: His mercies begin afresh each morning. It doesn’t say some mornings or after we get everything right. Every single day, without fail, we are offered fresh mercy. Not recycled. Not conditional. Brand-new mercy.
This means you can get up today, take a deep breath, and know that Heaven is cheering you on. You are not behind. You are not disqualified. You are loved and chosen and given everything you need to walk with joy into this new day.
Let today be a holy reset. Let it be a moment where you say, "God, I receive Your grace. I will not live under yesterday's shadow. I will live in today's light."
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for this brand-new day. I receive Your fresh mercy with joy and gratitude. Help me not to carry the weight of yesterday, but to walk lightly in Your grace. Open my eyes to the beauty around me today, and help me reflect Your love to those I meet. Let my joy today be rooted in Your never-ending faithfulness.
Journaling Prompt:
Where in my life do I need to embrace God's fresh mercy? What would it look like to truly let go of yesterday?
Joy Prompt:
Start your week with gratitude—His mercies are new every morning.
