Find Your Security in Christ

Find your Security in Christ

Greetings my awesome brothers and sisters in faith,

Midweek Messages (2).png

True security comes when you recognize that “God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:6

I wanted to follow up to last Sunday’s message on insecurity, with saying there are many causes of insecurity, but chief among them is our failure to fully trust God and keep our eyes on Him.

As believers, I pray you all take and learn to take great assurance and comfort in the truths highlighted in Psalms 9:10 “And those who know Your name put their trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You”.

A big driver of this epidemic of insecurity around the planet is the reliance on wealth and possessions instead of God. The world encourages us to strive to be “number one” and promote the adage “he with the most toys wins.” If we don’t have the latest iPhone, fastest surfboard, the best view of the arch, biggest house, or most fabulous vacation, we can fall into stinky thinking that we’re failures.

The Bible says, “As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.”

The other glaring reason for our insecurities is an unrelenting preoccupation with ourselves, and this “it’s all about me” mentality. As we learned about by looking at Jacob’s life in last Sunday’s message.

The Bible warns us about self-absorption and pride over and over. We need to remember it’s not about us! For as soon as we make it all about ourselves, insecurity starts to manifest and take hold.

Insecurity, for me personally can take the form of worrying about the future, as we learned from the story of Jacob who became obsessed with controlling the future.

Jesus wants us to put our trust in Him, as He says in Mathew 6:31-34:

“Therefore, do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore, do not

be anxious about tomorrow."

Worry and fears about the future are rooted in a doubt of God taking care of us and fulfilling the promises He made us. That distrust then breeds feelings of insecurity and a lack of peace, resulting in a lot of times fear and depression. The bottom line: when we doubt God, our insecurities flair up.

True security comes when you recognize that “God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:6

Let us engrave God’s promises on our heart from Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

As I said a few weeks ago, keep your eyes on God and stay plugged into the kingdom, for that is where our security and peace reside!

Questions to ask yourself this week:

1. What is giving you the most insecurity in your life?

2.  Are you ready to fully and unequivocally give this insecurity to God?

3. If so, then start asking God tonight to remove it.

4.  Find a scripture to replace it with to give you comfort.  Every time you feel insecure about it, say the scripture until the insecurity doesn’t pop its ugly head up anymore.

Have a super rest of the week,

Pastor Rick

Walking In Our Christ Identity

Christ Identity.png

Hello my Brothers and Sisters in Faith,

I wanted to follow up to last week’s message on how to fight back insecurities by replacing old and current feelings and emotions with biblical facts and accepting that in Christ you’re a new creation.

As the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:7 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

You see, insecurities are born by having believed lies about ourselves which then got rooted into our core believe system which then dictated how we see and conduct ourselves internally and externally.

Thus, what we need to do is start replacing the lies with facts from who God says we are!

As Jesus said: “you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” - John 8:32

The below attached identity document are the biblical facts that we need to imbed into our own core believes.

I promise you a radical transformation from insecurity to security if you study and follow the steps in the attached identity document.  So that we can share the same confidence of who we are in Christ with the great apostle Paul as he shared with us in the letter to the Galatians 2:20.

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Go through the document slowly, perhaps even just working through one identity statement a week so it truly gets imbedded and weaved into your being.

I’ve laid witness to this spiritual exercise creating powerful life changes in many brothers and sisters of the faith.

Once you truly know, understand and believe “you are accepted by God” as it says in the book of Romans 15:7, you will never have to look for it from other people.

Let’s keep walking up the path as God has so many blessings waiting for us all as it’s says in Jeremiah 11:29

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”

God bless you all,

Pastor Rick

Freedom

Greetings everyone,

Before, you read the midweek message will you join me in listening to one of my favorite worship songs about thanking Jesus?

As praising Jesus unleashes so much joy upon us while making our Heavenly Father smile down so brightly.

So in accordance with Psalms 95:6 “Let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHaQDS1_uvA

Ok, now that we got that “Attitude of Gratitude” stirred up.   I want to follow up to last Sunday’s message. In which, I highlighted a scripture from the book of John.

“You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”

I wanted to humbly suggest that we keep the joy stirred up today by reflecting on what God has personally set us free from.

Did he free you from insecurity, loneliness, anger, bitterness or even an addiction?

So, let’s push the proverbial “pause bottom” for a moment and identify those freedoms.

As it says in Psalms 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

It’s so easy for us to miss all the miracles and answered prayers as we race from one obstacle to the next.

So, let’s take stock today and just thank the Lord! In accordance with Hebrews 13:15.

“Through Him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge His name.”

Let me conclude by saying: let’s all keep knocking on His door by using that ATM card of prayer.  As, the Lord is not done freeing you or showering you with His wealth.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”-Mathew 7:7

Now that you got that attitude of gratitude on. Will you consider sharing the blessing He’s bestowed on you with your circle of influence?

As, we need to be bringers or Gods light amidst the darkness in accordance with Matthew 5:16

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Remember, you are an ambassador of God’s kingdom and His grace, so share your testimony of what God has set you free in order to encourage others into a relationship with their maker.  As it says in 2 Corinthians 5.

“We are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making His appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, Come back to God!”

I love you all!

No Bad Days

Even in Los Cabos where we have the infamous bumper sticker “No Bad Days” we can still wake up feeling a tad blue.

Yet, by turning over in bed and plugging right into God’s Kingdom we can have that transformation of mind onto the things that are pleasing to God thus helping us peel away the case of the ugly blues.

The great apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:8

“Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

Remember we need God to help control and manage our thought life, but that can only happen by plugging into God’s Kingdom.  Consider Him the CFE of the heavenly realms without the highs costs and rolling electrical shortages.

“Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.”  - Proverbs 4:23

Remember, your own thoughts are powerful and shape your day! So, make sure you are plugged into the right power source.

It’s easy to get plugged into a bad electrical socket of self-pity, fear and especially sin. As, it says in Romans 7: “But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me.”  That’s why we always want to make sure we’re plugging into the right outlet.

Will you join me in checking our connection and confirming we’re plugged into the right source by saying with me:

“Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is heaven.” - Mathew 6:10

When we plug in and allow God to manage our thought life we’re pushing the clouds of our thoughts aside and engraving the motto “No Bad days” on our heart and mind!

As Jesus said:

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

I miss you all very much!
